IRS appoints Mr. Mihai Danciu Chief Operating Officer
International Railway Systems (“IRS”), the European leader in freight wagon manufacturing, today announced that Mihai Danciu, 60, has been appointed Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Danciu will assume his position immediately and oversee the rail manufacturing division of the IRS Group.
Cristian Burci, President of IRS, said: “I am pleased that Mr. Danciu agreed to take this important position in the IRS management team. He is a proven executive with an impressive track record in our company for years now and his expertise and good reputation speak for themselves. Mr. Danciu’s leadership skills will help us, as we continue to build on our position as the largest freight wagon manufacturer in Europe.”
Mr. Danciu declared . “I am honored to take the position of COO within IRS Group. Although we are passing difficult times, as all the economies, with assets across Europe, IRS is well positioned in the region and is actively pursuing a number of growth opportunities to expand its business. I look forward to working with the IRS management team as we execute on our strategic plan.”
Mr. Danciu is a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Studies and started his career in Astra Vagoane Arad where he held several management positions. From 1975 to 1977 he gained extensive experience within research at ICPV Arad. In 2008, Mr. Danciu was appointed General Manager of Romvag Caracal.
