History:
MEVA was established in 1882 in Turnu Severin, considering that the town provided well-trained work force and benefited from a particular geographic location. S.C. MEVA S.A. has been a traditional name in the railcar industry for more than 126 years. In 2007 MEVA posted a turnover of 63,14 M Euro and the financial projections for 2008 indicate a 95,86 M Euro turnover.

Products:
With a production capacity of more than 1,800 freight railcars per year, the company manufactures more than 100 types of freight railcars, starting with general use freight railcars up to specialized cars, tank cars for oil products, liquefied gas, special cars with pneumatic discharge for powdery products, freight cars for coal, ore, cereals, cement and platform cars, produced in various capacities. The factory also produces spare parts for railcars. In recent years, MEVA has also produced large containers and vessels for cement transportation on barges and flat containers cars.

Facilities:
The Company operates modern equipment and installations for cutting, welding, preparation and protection of surfaces. Railcars are manufactured in compliance with designs and technical requirements elaborated by its own design department or according to the design or requests of the customers.

Certifications:
The wide range of products meets or exceeds the provisions of various standards and norms for vessels under pressure or international norms UIC, RIV, RID to which it is affiliated. The top quality of the products is certified and confirmed by certifications awarded by well known international organizations in the field of quality such as AFER, TÜV, OBB, EBA, GERMANISCHER LLOYD.

MEVA is proud to present a long list of customers, among which we can nominate some very large customers like AAE, VTG, DB, OBB, GATX, CB Rail, Serbian Railways, ERMEWA, CORRIDOR, FERRIERE CATTANEO, SNTFM-CFR Marfă, and its products have been exported to countries like Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Greece, the Netherlands, Hungary, Poland and Russia.
